Louis Wain (5 August 1860 – July 4, 1939)
These are fascinating to me. Louis Wain is an English painter who suffered from a late onset of schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is fascinating to me in general; but these are way up there for me. Its very peculiar that when one door closes, another opens: Like he was declared insane and institutionalized because he simply could not function. But he made these amazing paintings. Supposedly he had a cat named Peter and painted him to amuse his sick wife.. And they went from normal to sooooo abstract. I hope you will enjoy them as I do.
