too many stories to tell here. The short of it is the country is rad, and living styles are WILD. Constant power outages, shit tons of rum, beaches are real private, geckos everywhere. If anyone is thinking of going I recommend craterlake- most beautiful rainforest surrounding the cleanest lake in the country and only about a half hour from the airport- lots of eco friendly and cheap places to stay (read: huts). The people of Nicaragua go out of their way to make you feel welcome and hitchhiking is totally acceptable and easy. San Juan del Sur in the south is the surfer hideout complete with reggae bars and shit, awesome seafood ever where you go. The picture of that Jaguar was from this place with the most wacked out menu (crazy collages and conspiracy theories related) Molly ordered the jennifer lopez lobster- I ate some river shrimp there that were the size of lobsters and impossible to explain- and yeah they had that caged jaguar for ambiance. We got a good mix of country, city, rainforest and beaches, and didn't feel like we we're traveling the whole time. It just so happened The mayor of Managua killed himself while we were staying at my brother's house (also in Managua) so we got to see some crazy Sandanista parades and stuff. I also got to see what my bros been up to, a huge wind project that was nuts. And no shortage of news about Michael Jackson there either.
